The other day on my way out, I decided to grab something that I forgot from my car. When I got to my driveway, I noticed my door was unlocked and that all of my papers from my glove compartment, and center console were thrown around everywhere. I quickly realized that someone had gone through my car in my driveway in the middle of the night. They even took packages from my front door. I felt unsafe, but lucky that no one tried to break into my house. I knew I had to do something about it. For example, if you buy a Doorbell Camera for $25, you can get their “Porch Protection Plan” for an additional $1.99 a month, the plan provides up to $300 package theft coverage and 365 days of cloud storage. If you decide to go with one of their larger security kits, you automatically get “Kangaroo Complete” which offers $1,000 in theft protection, 24/7 professional monitoring, homeowners insurance discount, and much more.
This all sounded great. I decided to go with a front door security kit. It was bang for my buck because it included a doorbell camera for the front of my home, motion sensors that alert me when someones inside my home, a keypad to arm and disarm the alarm, and key tags that allow you to quickly arm and disarm the system with a tap. I was shocked to find out that all of this came with 1 year of Kangaroo Complete for just $119. This price was far better than other security companies like Ring because they charge up to $199 for just a doorbell. So...I felt like I was getting a steal.
A week went by before I received my package. When I opened everything up, it almost felt like I went shopping at the apple store. All of the boxes were clean, simple, and beautifully packaged. As I opened the boxes, I was worried about how hard it would be to set everything up. I downloaded the app & followed their step-by-step directions which walked me through the setup process.
First I went to my front door, put in the battery for the Doorbell Camera, peeled off the sticker, and mounted it. Next, I walked around the house and placed the sensors on my windows, and in the hallway. I placed the siren + keypad by my front door so I can easily arm and disarm the system. Last I placed the security signs around my house. To my surprise, it took me about 10 minutes to put it all together.
It’s been several months since I’ve had Kangaroo. Over that time I’ve only had 1 incident where my package was stolen and images were captured on my Doorbell Camera. Thankfully because of my Kangaroo Complete plan, Kangaroo refunded me $250, making the security kit pay for itself. I’m happy with my purchase; my family and I feel much safer and can’t recommend getting Kangaroo enough.
