Every month or so Netflix adds new content to its platform, whether its old tv shows and movies or their original content, these new hauls of titles make binge-watchers rejoice. Netflix began the month adding classic titles like Zodiac, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jake Gyllenhaal--or Steven Spielberg’s E.T. Contemporary classics like V for Vendetta and Lady Bird.
In this article, I’ll list some of the special titles coming to Netflix with the IMDB rating. For my personal favorites, I’ll provide the IMDB description.
Zodiac (7.7/10)
In the late 1960s/early 1970s, a San Francisco cartoonist becomes an amateur detective obsessed with tracking down the Zodiac Killer, an unidentified individual who terrorizes Northern California with a killing spree.
This is one of David Fincher’s underrated films, with stunning cinematography. Personally, I don’t agree with the IMDB rating, given the acting and directorial accomplishment’s
The Silence of the Lambs (8.6/10)
A young F.B.I. cadet must receive the help of an incarcerated and manipulative cannibal killer to help catch another serial killer, a madman who skins his victims. Anthony Hopkin’s plays a terrifying Dr. Hannibal Lector, while Jodie Foster cements her legacy in the thriller genre.
Twister (6.4/10)
Bill and Jo Harding, advanced storm chasers on the brink of divorce, must join together to create an advanced weather alert system by putting themselves in the cross-hairs of extremely violent tornadoes.
While this might not be a Kubric-esque masterpiece, Twister is one of the classic 90’s thrillers with great pace and characters--Twister definitely deserves a rating of around 8.
V for Vendetta (8.2/10)
In a future British tyranny, a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of "V", plots to overthrow it with the help of a young woman.
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (6.8/10)
Walk Hard movie is worth the price of admission for this scene alone.
